Important Notice For All Drivers

1. DRIVING STANDARDS

Following complaints from drivers concerning contact and general driving standards BARC SEC Committee has decided that it was necessary to issue this notice, which we strongly advise all drivers to read.
The Centre is fully aware that drivers need to show more respect to each other whilst on the race track and some drivers have been written to in regard to this matter. Therefore all drivers should be aware that their behaviour from now on will be closely monitored and that any driver breaching MSA driving standards’ regulations could well be asked to Race Control to explain their behaviour to the Clerk of the Course. As a result a driver may well find themselves excluded from the meeting and, may result in their exclusion from the championship they are participating in.

2. RACE ENTRIES

Drivers are reminded that once they have been notified of acceptance of their entry it becomes a contract between the competitor and the organiser. In other words the competitor has agreed to take part in the competition and the organiser has agreed to comply with the conditions of entry, unless prevented by Force Majeure. Therefore if a driver subsequently withdraws from the competition they entered and enters an alternative competition on the same day, it would be considered a breach of contract, and a breach of MSA regulations H32.2.1 and H32.2.2.

3. SOCIAL MEDIA

Drivers and their supporters are reminded about the use of social media. Regulation 4.2 of our championship regulations clearly states the position and anyone found in breach of 4.2 will be dealt with accordingly. A negative or derisory comment on social media can been seen instantly by a large number of people. This may include one or more of our sponsors , hence the need for restraint. There can be, and have been, serious consequences caused by the misuse of social media. Therefore if a driver considers that they have a genuine issue that needs resolution they should use the appropriate channel either the Championship Co-ordinator, Centre Chairman or Centre Committee member.
